EMPLOYMENT-BASED IMMIGRATION

There are a limited number of permanent employment-based visas available each year, divided into different preference categories:

• Persons of extraordinary ability in arts, science, education, business, or athletics; and outstanding professors, researchers, managers, and executives.

• Professionals with advanced degrees or with exceptional ability in arts, science, or business.

• Skilled workers with necessary training or experience, professionals with college degrees, or unskilled workers for non-temporary or non-seasonal labor.

• Persons who will invest specified sums of money in a job-creating enterprise that employs a certain number of U.S. workers.
